The ministry participated in ceremonies organized by the Judiciary of Uganda, of opening up High Courts Circuits in the country. The two latest additions are the High Court in Kitgum and also in Bushenyi.
Kitgum High court circuit has been curved out of the greater Gulu circuit, abd it shall be covering the districts of Agago, Kitgum, Pader and Kalaki, which is part of the Karamoja Region. Bushenyi High Court circuit shall cover the district of Bushenyi, Sheema, Mitooma. It has been curved out of the greater Mbarara circuit.
These courts will help extend justice services closer to the people, who have been saved from trekking very long distances to look for a High Court Judge. There are plans to open up many more, as funds are availed.
The Ministry teams from Gulu led by the regional Office head Ag PSA Elizabeth Nyakwebara and Mbarara team led by the Regional Office head Ms. Betty Karungi Gafabusa, both used these two events to participate in exhibitions and sensitized the public about the Ministry. Many of those attended received free legal advice and counsel.
